    they both died so no one knows where he is

    it is abandoned and he decides to assign himself chores

    the Pawnee

    The boys try to take the horse and Kicking bird try’s to communicate with him

    RBP2) How do Kicking Bird and Wind in his Hair view the wasicu (whites)?

    Kicking bird things they are powerful Wind in his face thinks they are weak and they should kill him

    RBP3) Describe LJD and Wind in his Hair’s first interaction with each other (the next day after the boys tries to steal the horse)

    They make him leave after he returned the girl

    RBP4) A) Who does LJD meet on the prairie AND where and why does he take them?

    He finds the white girl and takes her to the camp

    B) What do we know about this person AND why will they be important to future relations between LJD and the Lakota?

    She was rescued by the Lakota

  3. RBP1) What happens the first time LJD sees Kicking Bird, AND what does it inspire the 3 young boys to do?
    Kicking Bird tried to take Cisco (LJD’s horse) but Dunbar caught him, although he was unfortunately naked. The 3 young boys were inspired to go steal the horse and be “heroes” after listening in on Kicking Bird’s story.
    RBP2) How do Kicking Bird and Wind in his Hair view the wasicu (whites)?
    Kicking Bird sees them as an opportunity to make peace/medicine with while Wind in his Hair sees them as greedy children who can’t survive on the frontier.
    RBP3) Describe LJD and Wind in his Hair’s first interaction with each other (the next day after the boys tries to steal the horse)
    WIHH decides to try his best to show Dunbar that he isn’t afraid of him by being intimidating.
    RBP4) A) Who does LJD meet on the prairie AND where and why does he take them?
    He meets Christine under a tree and she’s attempting suicide so he takes her back to the Lakota camp.
    B) What do we know about this person AND why will they be important to future relations between LJD and the Lakota?
    She’s a white woman and Kicking Bird’s adopted daughter. Her family was killed by the pawnee when she was young, so she doesn’t remember much English. Christine is the only communication between Dunbar and the Lakota no matter how rusty her English is, it’s the only way for them to communicate.

    RBP2) How do Kicking Bird and Wind in his Hair view the wasicu (whites)? That they are selfish and they cannot help them with anything
    RBP3) Describe LJD and Wind in his Hair’s first interaction with each other (the next day after the boys tries to steal the horse)they want him to be scared powerful and they are no scared of him
    RBP4) A) Who does LJD meet on the prairie AND where and why does he take them? A girl named Kristine she is white and can’t speak English
    B) What do we know about this person AND why will they be important to future relations between LJD and the Lakota? She is adopted by the Indians and to help them interact with Dunbar

  5. RBP1) What happens the first time LJD sees Kicking Bird, AND what does it inspire the 3 young boys to do?
    The meeting is stiff and the boys try to steal the horse.
    RBP2) How do Kicking Bird and Wind in his Hair view the wasicu (whites)?
    One thinks they have terrible skills and the other thinks that the whites are stonger than they think.
    RBP3) Describe LJD and Wind in his Hair’s first interaction with each other (the next day after the boys tries to steal the horse)
    He attempts to show Dunbar that he wants to make peace, not fight.
    RBP4) A) Who does LJD meet on the prairie AND where and why does he take them?
    He meets a woman trying to commit suicide and he takes her back to the Lakota camp for help.
    B) What do we know about this person AND why will they be important to future relations between LJD and the Lakota?
    She can be a translator, because she knows Lakota, and remembers some of English.

    How did you keep your sanity?
    How did you cope with all of that work you had to do?
